If the Food Network program “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives” hasn’t visited Triangle Char and Bar yet, they surely will in the future as it is a local favorite of Charleston residents in the West Ashley area.
The bar and grill offers up daily specials, three outside patios and some incredible burgers, sandwiches and sides any visitor will later tell their friends about. Focusing on local ingredients and fresh meat and seafood, Triangle Char and Bar is well known for their inventive grass-fed burgers like the General Lee, a burger oozing with homemade pimento cheese; the Astronaut, a burger with marinara sauce and pepperoni; and the “I’m on a diet but still want a burger” turkey burger — a local favorite.
If you’re not a burger fan, the restaurant also offers up a couple different types of tacos, sandwiches and appetizers; and make sure to try their twist on egg rolls. The only thing in common Triangle’s egg rolls have in common with the Asian version is the crusty outside as their four different iterations are made with pulled pork and collard greens, avocado and red pepper, chorizo and potato, and shrimp and grits.
Another popular feature of the restaurant is their Sunday brunch, which serves up huge portions of pancakes, omelettes and other southern breakfast staples. The brunch is also popular due to their $10 bottomless Mimosa specials from 11 am to 4 pm — or as the menu states, “Offer ends at 4 pm or when you become a drunken idiot.”
Live music is performed every Friday and Saturday night, and the bar never charges a cover.
HelloCharleston Tip: In small print on the menu it states, “Don’t be a jerk! Nice people get free drinks, and only jerks ask for their free drink.” Fans of the Facebook page also may get free items.
